    a good gun would be a 7 mm mag it would take care of all you hunting need especally elk

    A .270 wsm. would be an excellant all around gun.

    The .270win is in my opinion the only rifle needed for any animal in north america, it can do it all.

    A 270 is a great gun for beginners.
    Some prefer the 243.

    .270 or 30.06 however like the others have said try them out first.
