I used to own a Mossberg 835 Turkey Shotgun and the barrel is stamped with "Not Intended for Slugs". Or something to that effect. I was told that as long as I remove the turkey choke that I could shoot slugs down it.
Can anyone verify that info.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure that it's a ten guage barrel but chambered for a 12 gauge round and thats way you can't shoot a slug through it. That's what I was told but I could be wrong. But I know you can't shoot a slug through it.

i got an 835 with the short barrel, but i also bought a rifled slug barrel to hunt with in ill. now i use my m/l'er, but if i were going to shoot slugs i would do it with a rifled slug barrel, at 40yrds and less smooth bore was ok, but the rifled barrels really shine at 70-100 yrds over the smooth bores, at least for me..
