Default Locating Parts

I have an old Rossi double barrel 12 ga that I want to get shooting agian but I'm having some trouble finding the part. The local gunsmiths in my area are either booked up from here to eternity or they can't get the part themselves.

It's hammerless and the metal piece that engages the hammers is allowing the rod to slip. I think it's called a sear but I'm not sure. It is located on the end of the wooden piece and when the barrel is broken it pushes in the two rods to caulk the gun. It has two indentions in it about the size of a pencil eraser.

Help .......

Might want to look over at http://www.e-gunparts.com They sale all kinds of parts for old and new guns. They also have schematics that you can look at for free and also buy.

I've been to their site and talked to a rep. They only have parts in stock for the external hammer model. They said I could put it on a wish list and if something came up they'd call.......

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not certain, but I'll bet that numerich has them. I don't know what model yours is, but there's an internal hammer Rossi "Squire" double bbl shotgun on here and they've got listed that the sears are in stock.

When I talked to Rossi they gave Numrich..... thats the site we referred to above. The squire on the site is an external hammer.

I wonder if the parts are interchangeable? The part I need is called a forend iron....
