These two loads are hot hot loads but are factory reloads from a popular company? They are as follows greater than two popular defense loads. Are these two Hi Velocity loads too hot for self defense loads for pistols like the Glock 35 and S&W 4053 TSW? Will they at this velocity perform as they should or as a defense bullet should and give reliable stopping percentages or not even have time to expand in a torso for the bullet to mushroom and provide the shock and energy that is needed to stop an assailant with one shot? The Federal 155gr Hydra Shok is rated a 97% one shot stopper and is as these examples are, much slower than the two Hi Velocity loads listed. So again are these two Hi Vel loads safe, reliable, and do you think they will perform as other top defense loads? The two loads are compared now below:
LOAD #1=Hi Velocity 40 Super 135gr. JHP with 1800 fps & 971 ft lbs of energy at the muzzle which is 1/3rd or 600 fps greater and almost 2 times the muzzle energy than Winchester's Super-X 40 S&W 155gr Silvertip JHP which has 1205 fps & 500 ft lbs of energy at the muzzle.
LOAD #2=Hi Velocity 40 Super 155gr. JHP with 1500 fps & 774 ft lbs of energy at the muzzle which is almost 1/4th or is 325 fps greater than Speer's Gold Dot 40 S&W 155gr Golden Saber JHP which has 1175 fps & 475 ft lbs at the muzzle.
Please give me your opinion and if you want to now more about getting some of these loads you can contact me here. Thanks, Larenegade. 15Jun04

Holy cow, thats screamin. 40S&W is a load that has to be cared for carefully. Especially with COL. The 40Cal as it is hot. Any change in COL can send pressures soaring.
I would be careful and leary of these loads.
Max speed I can get is 1300fps with a 135gr load with Unique. I am not sure how they accomplish this.

You do not shoot the .40super in a .40S&W handgun. It is a necked down .45 case to hold the .40S&W bullet. You have to have a .45 handgun fixed with heavier springs and maybe some other work to be able to shoot the .40super.
There is also the....
.400corbon http://mysite.elixirlabs.com/index.p...2665&page=1597
.45super http://www.acecustom45.com/45super.htm
And others. There are even two "super" mouse gun rounds now,
The .25NAA http://www.naaminis.com/25NAArel.html and
The .32NAA http://www.naaminis.com/32NAA.html
Some great ballistics on all these rounds, just make sure you shoot it in the right gun with the right work done on it.

i have a glock 35 and the stock barrel with a rockwell rating of 32 will not stand up to that kind of pressure... the 40sw has a higher 1 shot stopping % the the 10mm does..
the only difference is that the 10mm has a longer casing. i would stay with
CORBON 135 grain 1350 f.p.s. and 526 ft/lbs ever heard (ANYTHING MORE THAN A HANDFUL IS A WASTE)..LOL.. i have owned multiple .45 9mm and .40 and since going to the glock35 in .40s&w ill never go back to .45 or 9mm. there is a reason why the pros
choose the .40 over anyother pistol round and there are many others..lol..

Glock 29rd, where are you getting this data on the .40? It has a higher 1 shot % than the 10mm? The only reason the .40 was adopted by so many agencies was the fact that hiring standards were lowered and these wimps couldn't shoot the 10.

I love the .40S&W but the 10mm is a whole differn't round. It can be loaded anywhere from .40S&W type loads to .41magnum!
Also, I think the .357sig round has the best track record for "one shot stop" %. I know Virginia state police has had 9 out of 10, 1 stop shots, or so I have heard.
It's all about where you put the bullet, then the bullet
