RE: Rossi Matched pair
I'm thinking of getting one for my son. The 243-20 guage combo is what I'm looking at. I will be very happy with 1-1/2 inch groups for the 243. I was just a little concerned about the extractor. It just doesnt seem to have much pop.

Don't expect any customer support from Rossi if you ever need it. I recently bought the R17B. It didn't come as a matched pair. I was just itching to try out the new .17HMR and the price was right. The factory open sights are very poor to say the least so I called Rossi and ordered a scope base for the rifle and was told the bases were made in Brazil and had to be backordered. After 3 weeks of waiting for the so called Brazil made scope base, I called Weaver to see if they were making a base for the rifle. Much to my surprise, I was told Weaver is making the base for Rossi and I had one here in 3 days. I called Rossi and told them to cancel my backorder and thanked them for feeding me the line of BS about the base coming from Brazil and I also told them I would never buy another Rossi product as long as I lived. If you want to take the chance of poor or no customer service, the little rifle does shoot nice and is real accurate.

I bought a 22LR/20G for my boys, the ejector works well enough. I added a Weaver mount and a laser sight to the .22 for shooting Armadilos in my yard at night. Yes the factory sights are cheep to say the least. Shots under 30yards I haven't missed yet. So with the laser sight you just look under it and can still use the front open sights well enough to hit your target.
For a $100 and change how tight a group would you expect?
It seems to work well for my 7 and 11 year olds to learn more on gun safety and works well for small close game and plinking. A reasonable single shot for new young small new shooter.

My mother bought herself one and she loves it. She only has one third of her vision and can barely shoot anything but she can spend all day with it. It's a .22lr and .410 and she cals it her little gun with her little bullets. She can do pretty good considering her vision and the sights usually sending coke cans spinning at 5 yards just by pointing.

Rossi is now owned by Taurus International from what I was told by a very reliable source.Taurus doesn't have the best customer service either. I guess birds of a feather flock together, unfortunately this seems to be a growing trend amongst gun companies.
