Would it be possible to rechamber a Savage 340C in .30-30Win to the 300Wby Mag cartridge? If so, would it be very expensive and time consuming. I' m not going to do this so don' t worry about me blowing my face off. I was just wondering if it was possible.

I am pretty sure the action isn' t long enough to handle the 30-06, much less the 300 Wby Mag.

I doubt seriously if you' ll find a " smith" to do this for you and please don' t attempt it your self. The action is not suited for the Weatherby in any way shape or form.

No intentions to do it. We were just joking around about it and wondered if it was even possible. My buddy has an old Savage 30-30 that he hunts with for sentimental value. He wants to upgrade in caliber but would hate to retire the old Savage. The joke was converting it to 300Mag. My dad' s friend converted a Remington 7600 pump from 243 to 30-06. I thought he should have just bought a 30-06 rifle.

I think about the only thing you could really do to it is 300 Savage, maybe 308 Win.
