Save the shoulder and go with 25-06 but keep a good eye on yardage.Just because the trajectory is flatter doesn' t mean it will kill the target. As far as accuracy, the rifle can only be as accurate as the shooter so Practice practice practice the fundamentals that are essential in shooting a rifle.A.300 Rem Mag will drop a deer out to 1000 yards if you could put the shot in the precise target area but I can' t see a 25-06 doing that.I would have to say 500 yards at most with the25-06 but then agin you would still have to show the proper fundamentals for a shot like that.300 yards is the farthest I would shoot at any deer anywhere in any conditions. Not to say that I have but that would be a good deadline on max yardage for hunting deer.

ANY .30/' 06-based cartridge from the .25/' 06 up to the .30/' 06 itself will do what you want. They are ALL accurate, depending on what bullet you select. The larger ones like the .280 Rem. and the old ' 06 buck wind better, if you use heavy bullets like the 175-grain Sierra PSPBT or Nosler Partition in the .280, or the 200-grain Sierra or 200-grain Nosler Accubond in the ' 06!
