Accuracy and reliability of pumps?

And why not, some times oldies are goodies and should be revisited.
My brother has a 760 carbine in 308, He bought it in 1973 shoots reloads in it and probably would not have a stock if he cut a small notch for every deer he has harvested with it.

Some things are worth digging up. The remmy pump is reliable and accurate. My dad and several uncles hunt with them every year. If you stop in at a camp around our area of PA I bet 75% of the hunters are using one or have one.

I had Rem 760 .30/06 for a couple of minutes. Sloppy action, was accurate enough I guess but the shape of the butt stock made the recoil feel like a cannon. Just flat didn't like it. Only had a couple hundred in it so I gave it to a rabbit hunting buddy that didn't have a deer rifle. Fella still has it. Killed a butt load of deer with it. I just preferred my levers in Pa.
