And if all this doesn' t work, go over to http://www.rimfirecentral.com and see what they have in the 10/22 maintenance forum.

The first thing is to clean it well and then properly lube it. .22LR is a dirty shooting cartridge in a blowback operated action (like the 10/22), and too much oil in the action will mix with the powder residue and turn into a thick black sludge that will prevent the action from cycling fast enough to reliably strip and feed cartridges into the chamber. If there is one thing I learned about semi-auto rifles in the service, it is that too much lube is a bad thing. Try using Breakfree CLP on the bolt, and every other part, for that matter. I put just a couple drops on a clean patch and wipe down the entire bolt surface. The CLP will dry out some and leave a layer of dry lube (it has Teflon in it) that provides good lubrication and doesn' t attract dirt and grime. Breakfree CLP is the civilian marketed version of the Mil Spec. CLP that is issued and used exclusively by the U.S. military on the M16 series rifles in all but arctic conditions. If used in moderation it works wonders.
The second thing I' d do is make sure you are using quality HIGH VELOCITY .22LR ammo. My 10/22' s reliability would go to crap anytime I' ve ever used standard velocity rounds. Mine favors Winchester Super X High Velocity ammo the best, and my wife had been known to shoot an entire brick in an afternoon without too much trouble.
The last thing to check is the magazines. The magazine that came with my 10/22 eventually wore out and would cause misfeeds two or three times per magazine. I replaced it with two new Ruger 10rd magazines and the feed problems went away.
Otherwise, the 10/22 is a very good gun and will last for years. Mine has been through hell and back and still shoots like the day I took it out of the box. You should take a moment right now and pat yourself on the back and be darn thankful you bought a 10/22 instead of a Remington 597.

First off, this isn' t an english class, so I could care less about your puntcuation and all.
Secondly, I think you should take the reciever all the way apart and just simplely wipe out any oil. The barrel is really the only thing that needs oil. But I don' t believe that to be your issue. Sometimes those ejector clips suck on the 10/22. I always change mine out and have yet to have a problem.
Lots of web pages selling high end ejectors. Here is one I like. There is better out there. But I believe this works well.

If you think too much oil is the problem go to wal-mart buy a can of gun scrubber spray it down good (go outdoors to do this) and then lightly oil the gun. the cci mini mags work well in most 10/22' s . THE ONES WITH THE BLUE LABLE.

Just more suggestion from personal experience. Don' t store the factory 10 rd magazine with bullets in it. I discovered that the spring weakens. Mine started
sticking in the magazine. Have had no more problems after I bought a new one (they' re pretty inexpensive) and stored it empty.
