I have been looking for a .223 for coyote hunting and just a gun to mess around with and im stuck between these 3 models, remington 700 sps varmint, savage model 12fv, and the ruger m77 hawkeye. Im just curious to see what your guys opinions are on the quality and accuracy of these rifles.

Each of them are capible of shooting sub MOA (given the "right" ammo) from the bench.
It's all about what "features" YOU WANT in a predator rifle.
I like synthetic, stainless steel with a detachable box magazine.
If I'm going to walk with it (shooting sticks in hand) - no more than 7lbs.
If it's a short walk to stands, then I mount a harris bi-pod on it.
For a carry gun I use a Remington 700 SPS DM (not stainless however) in .243 (75 gr.V-max), if I'm expecting long shots or on windy days. I carry a Bogg pod tri-pod.
For stand hunting, I use a Savage 16 FCSS in .204 (40 gr.V-max) with a harris bi-pod on it.
Enjoy yourself selecting YOUR rig (s) !

I have the 700SPS in 308WIN, and it's an amazing rifle.
Everyone should have the opportunity to own and shoot such a fine firearm in their lifetime...not real fun to hump around though...it's a brick.
But, it's super accurate out of the box!
I'd replace the stock with something better as soon as you're able.
Then, you'll see what that rifle will really do!

Savage would be my choice. That said, the 12fv is not a "walk around" rifle. I have two; a 22-250 and a 220Swift. I don't like to carry them farther than Jeep to bench. Savage makes several suitable walk around models. Check out their web site savagearms.com

I have a few Rem 700's that I really love, and I had a Ruger varminter .22-250 in college that shot very well, but out of your options, I'd recommend the savage.
I purchased a Savage 12BVSS (stainless fluted heavy barrel on laminate stock) .223 for my fiancee' last November as her first rifle... The first rifle she's ever shot in fact. I figured she'd lose interest and I'd have a nice rifle for myself. Boy was I wrong. On a bad day, her "normal" group is .2-3" at 100yrds off of sandbags with a Nikon 4.5-14x glass... We usually shoot 5shot groups at a 6 card when we go out (6 2" targets on one paper), and never fail, she'll deliver at least 2 groups that are less than 2 diameters... That's 5 shots in a hole smaller than .446"! With a pure stock rifle!
