I need to get out of the habit of shooting more than 3 shots, as it messes up my spread. Oh, and thats the cheap $0.05 version of the great American MOA tester.

Well fellas, thanks for the stroll down memory lane. I never thought I'd have to use targets in self-defense. Always thought it would be a weapon.

I hope you're satisfied with the results of the little study about factory ammo and rifles. Sorry I don't have a target for the Tikka, you'll have to wait on that one. Didn't realize I'd need it to prove a point to complete strangers one day. Be glad to send it along Drifter, you want mustard with that foot? Is that an empty beer shelf I hear? Anytime you want a run at the plate rack, I'll send you to the kitchen....you seem to be an AD waiting to happen..

Ridger, hope you like my targets...

Alls well that ends well....

He must have been one of your favorites.

You don't like the "$0.25 American MOA tester"? I thought that was pretty funny.

You know, I have a good friend who is just like byrd here. I am shocked that we are friends. He is also a bleeding heart lib. Imagine that. Anyway, I digress. My buddy does not understand why I take the hard way for everything. He doesn't understand me, and I sure don't understand him.

Anything in life he can buy his way out of he will. He pays someone to change his oil. He buys ready made Christmas trees out of plastic, he pays someone to put in a new breaker panel. He even pays someone to mount his scopes, pays someone to tune his bows, pays someone to assemble his fletchings. Pays someone to catch his MD blue crabs, even pays someone to steam them. Even pays someone to butcher his deer. If he can buy his way out of something, he will do it.

He just can't understand why I take such pains to make the straightest most accurate ammo I can. He doesn't understand why I build my own longbows and take such pride in it. He just doesn't understand why I do my own work on scoots/cars, etc. Or what I get out of going on the bay and catching my own crabs. Or why I would take 5-6hours butching a deer to my own liking (no fat or silverskin). You know I made up my mind years ago, never to try to understand a guy like him and don't expect him to understand a guy like me. We are breed apart.

You know something my grandfather told me before he died stuck with me. Ain't nuttin in life easy worth a darn. He is right.

I change my own oil,
cook most of my own meals
tune my own bow,
load my own cartridges,
butchered every deer I ever killed.

I would never attempt to put in a breaker box, or make my own bow... whats that clint said in MAGNUM FORCE? " a mans gotta know his limitations"

I also like plastic Christmas trees

Your a bit off on that one. I'd say were eye to eye on everything on that list except making long bows and reloading rifle ammunition. I don't have any need or interest in either. That's just the way it is. Only so many hours in a day.

To me it's taking pride in what your capable of doing and 99% of the time do it better than the factory can produce for you. It is fun to have a new rifle and a new set of dies to play with building the best optimal load for each individual rifle. It's more than just a past time, it's doing your best and coming out ahead of the competition. I'm a firm believe in the reloading bench over the gun smith when it comes to minor accuracy problems.
