I would refrain from using the light mags in a semi-auto. Hornady makes some good stuff in there "custom" load series, so I would stick with them or other makes. The Mags might not hurt the gun (at least for awhile), but I don't think you'll get the accuracy you might require with them - as the guns really aren't designed for them.

Thanks, I have 3 of them 2 blr 81 and a win. 88, a guide in Manitoba talked me out of the 88 last sping. I've shot around 25 big black bear with mine and .250 speers over 43 grns of AA2015br(the old stuff) corony says 2318 out of the 20"bbl browning. I want to just use the .225's but can't seem to get the right powder and load. Last spring I got a nice blond bear(around 500lbs) and he just bounced when he hit the ground, as most have done. I've never recovered a .speer .250 from a bear ! How does the sierra work ? and what vel are you geting ?
