what is MOA.

GOt two questions here.
First what does MOA mean or sub moa or 1//2 moa.
ALso i am looking at the dpms lrt sass for a shooting both short long range and hunting in KY.
IS the gun worth the 2kl price tag or would i be better off buying the strip down 308 and adding all the extras found on the sass. I would think it would be cheaper to buy it compelet. I figured the bipod and nice grip was extra but from what read it comes as pictured on the dpms sight minus the scope.

This is not meant as a flame, but looking at the totality of your questions over the past few weeks, if you are also asking what MOA is, you will not get the value out of a $2000 firearm and should not be focusing on "long range" shooting. Get a solid basic rifle and master basic marksmanship, learn the fundamentals, and read a ton. A Remington SPS and a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14X42 scope, in the chambering of your choice, would be an affordable learning platform.

MOA stands for minute of angle. It roughly translates to 1" per 100 yards. An actual minute of angle is 1.047 inches at 100 yards.
When someone says their rifle is sub MOA rifle they simply mean it consistently shoots groups pf 1" or better at 100 yards, 2" at 200 yards, 3' at 300 yards, etc... etc... measured center to center of the bullet holes.
A 1/2 MOA rifle shoots half inch groups at 100 yards, 1" groups at 200 yards, 1.5" groups at 300 yards, etc... etc...
I agree with spaniel about learning the basics first before you dump 2 grand on a rifle. It takes a lot of trigger time and money to master truly long range shooting.

MOA means Minute Of Angle. Think of a circle which is divided into 360 degrees, then divide each degree by 60 and you have minutes of angle (and further dividing a MOA by 60 gives you seconds of angle). So 1 MOA is equal to 1/60th of a degree. It just so happens that 1 MOA subtends very close to 1" at 100 yards (it's actually 1.047197580733", but close enough to just call it 1"). The distance the angle subtends is also related proportionally to the range, so 1MOA = 1" @ 100 yards, 2" @ 200 yards, etc.... MOA is useful for measuring groups because it allows a group to be qualified without reference to distance. In other words, if I tell you that my rifle will shoot 1" groups, that really doesn't tell you anything unless I also tell you how far away from the target I was. I could have shot a 1" group at 25 yards, which is 4MOA, which for a CF rifle pretty much sucks. But if I told you my rifle shoots 1 MOA, you don't really need to know the distance to get a good idea of the general accuracy of the rifle.
As for the DPMS you ask about, I don't know if it's worth $2k, but I know you can build your own AR from carefully sourced parts and get it to shoot just as well for a lot less than that.

Some damm good advise there.
".......A Remington SPS and a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14X42 scope, in the chambering of your choice......."
You can get that long distance shooting rig down the road after you start shooting 1" MOA free hand.

Having fired a couple DPMS prototypes at their range in St. Cloud, MN. Both in .308. Their rifles are worth every penny they ask and then some.
That being said, start with a bolt action and learn the basics of shooting before trying to learn long-range shooting with an semi-automatic rifle.
