I have an old Ruger 10/22 that shoots good but has alot of rust on the exterior. It's not bad enough that I need a new barrel but I would like to make the gun look nicer. Whats the best way I can get the rust out myself?

Honestly, with all the new factory take-off barrels floating around for 15$-20$, it wouldn't make sense to try rebluing your barrel. You can buy a new barrel for less than the price of a decent cold blue kit.

Just a suggestion but while you're at it, now would be an excellent time to upgrade to a target quality barrel.

I use Rusty Duck. But with all the stuff you could do with a 10/22, I would dress it up.
