I was actually a fan of the savage push feed bolt, easy to take apart and clean and service. Nice beefy locking lugs too.

Damn if I seem to pay attention any more.

I have a 14 classic sitting on the shelf right behind me that is a CRF 300WSM.

Personally, I would not pay extra for controlled round feed! Unless you are hunting dangerous game or hanging upside down while shooting, push feed will serve you just as well! I know that Winchester did other cost cutting measures that hurt the M-70 in 1964, but the hype over cutting the "claw extractor" and replacing it with a push feed model nearly ruined them! Remington on the other hand, always used the push feed bolt and the M-700 is still a best seller!

I didn't know for sure but since I don't care about whether it's push feed or crf, and darned sure don't care about savage rifles, it's news to me.
