Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying a Tikka rifle but have to lay my hands on one. Are they a push feed or they a mauser type with controlled round feeding? Also please let me know what you think of the Tikkas compared to other brands out there.
Thanks!!

If they are like Sakos, I think they're kind of a combination of the two. Best of both worlds kind of thing. I always thought my Sako was a controlled round feed but some people say it's push feed. It does have the big claw extractor instead of the plunger. Somebody on this board will know the answer.

I forget what the Tikka is at the moment, but as far as I'm concerned, why does a guy need a push feed? (I might have this backwards, it's kinda hazy right now, so correct me if I'm wrong: push doesn't have to be loaded from the magazine.) Basically the only thing that that helps you do is load the rifle to full capacity without closing the bolt, opening and loading a final shell, which shouldn't be done anyway. It always makes me nervous when guys walk around with their magazines full and a round chambered, it's just not safe. I'm thinking the TIkka's are push though, but I'm not for certain. I think Prairie Boy is a big Tikka guy, maybe ask him?
