Marlin actually came out with a better trigger all of their models have a T behind it now to signify it I believe. Still savage's accu is better. It's hard to beat the savage unless you step up to a CZ.

I personally would more than likely go with the Savage. Now I don't honestly know which one is better just that I'd more than likely pick the Savage. I like Marlin and I've had a muzzle loader from them that was one of the better shooting guns I have had but for some reason I'm just not a huge Marlin fan. I don't know. I like them and if I was getting a 30-30 it's probably who I'd go with but I think for a .22 mag I'd go with a Savage over the Marlin.

I have a stainless, bull barrel 22 magnum Marlin. The trigger on it is horrible, but is a very easy fix. The gun flat out shoots though!
The only reason I didn't go with the Savage was because the mag release lever hangs down too far, and I've seen all my buddies with the Savage lose their mags out of the gun on numerous occasions. I spent alot of time crawling around looking for their mags is the reason why I didn't go with the Savage.

I would choose Marlin in a heartbeat. The trigger don't matter as it's easily reworked or even replaced with aftermarket riflebasix trigger. I have 2 Marlins and both are accurate!!!
