Now it's not a 30-06 but our local Wal-Mart had a Remington 700 with a synthetic stock in .270 on clearance for $300. It said normally $364. Maybe check out your wal-mart and see if they have any deals like that. I almost bought it. I can soo close to it but I just don't have a extra $300 to throw around right now.

If nobody buys it, I'll take it just for the action! Just new actions alone run me more than that.

Yeah I wanted that thing badly. It wasn't the ADL. It was some other letters I can't remember after it but it was a Remington 700. Just the one with the synthetic stock. What do the letters after it mean?

The SPS replaced the ADL. There's other versions such as BDL and CDL but most likely is/was SPS if it wasn't ADL.

Well, I decided on the Savage 111 FXP4 30 06 package. It has the better trigger, comes with a passable scope, and I found it for $411. After shipping and FFL fee it should be $436.

I looked at a few used rifles, but the discount to new was not large enough.

Hopefully I will have it in a few weeks, and then can get it to the range with my new muzzleloader once the weather turns.

Now I just have to wait another 9 months for deer season.

Congratulations on your purchase. You should be real familiar with it by the time deer season rolls around.
