My shotgun hicupped

Is it normal for a semi auto shotgun to send 2 shells out of the magazine at once? Does this happen alot, to anyone else, who shoots semi auto shotguns? My Winchester Super X3 did it the other day shooting 2 3/4 #4s HVs. It only did it once ,and then kept cycling 3 round bursts after that ,so Im not sure if it was a fluke or the beggining of a problem?

There is a 'finger' that swings clear during cycling to allow the fresh shell to come out of the magazine. My first thought (bing that you are in NY) is that there is either excessive grease or oil or something else causing it to stick in the retracted position allowing more than one shell to pass by it. I would try giving it a good cleaning/degreasing and apply a light coat of gun oil. This should solve your problem. I would read the manual if you are not familiar with your gun and pull the trigger mechanism out of the receiver and clean it all.

No, not fully auto ,I shoudnt have said "3 rd bursts" I meant it jamed once and then i was able to "burst" out 3 shots w/ out it jamming, so Im thinking it was a fluke , just wanted to know if its common . Most other guys I know shoot pumps.
