Default need help

I hunt in an area where there is a fence line. The guy on the other side of the fence is an @$$ hole and if you shoot a deer he will not let me or anybody else cross his fence to look for a shot deer. Truth be known the few that have jumped the fence he got and kept. To my question I need a gun that can drive tacks at long range. I can get shots up to 350yds but i have to neck shoot them and hope i catch the spine. We see buck that score 150 and up. And the last thing i want to do is shoot one and lose it because it crossed the fence. I was looking at a 22-250 with a bull barrel, with a ziess conquest scope. And ideas would be greatly appreciated.

A 22-250 is on the small side for deer at that range. How about a savage 110fp in 25-06. Fast, flat, accurate with a heavy barrel and limited recoil with 100-120gr bullet.

22-250 for 350 yards? NO.

You can use anything from a 243 up and drop a deer dead on the spot if hit right. I personally don't like neck shots seen two deer lost in to years from bad neck shoots. I would look at a 30-06 or a 300 wsm personaly and hit them with a high shoulder shot its a little bigger target then the neck.

Also if you ''hope'' you hit something you shouldn't have pulled the trigger. Its not hard to break the spine and drop a deer. hit the high shoulder and the shoulder blade bounces off the spine and the deer usually drops, usually. Nothing is definate no matter what gun or round you use.

Thanks for the info and you are right i should not have said hoped, what i meant is that I know i can neck shoot a deer and miss the vitals, the reason I am looking for a smaller caliber is my daughter is 8 and wants to kill a deer I don't have the money to spend on a rifle for her without getting rid of the one I have now, So i need something smaller for her but can still do what I need it to do. Also I neck shoot because i hunt meat far more often than I hunt horns, the horns are just a bonus for me.

A 25-06 or 260 rem with a 100gr and a heavy barrel will not have a lot of recoil.

So you want to shoot 350 yrds, getting neck shots forinstand incapciationyet compromise on the chambering??? If I needed such on-target energy to drop the animal in it's tracks, I certainly wouldn't compromise in the chambering. Keep the shots closer and stick with a .30 cal (7mm minimum) and I'd have little worries.
Good chance an 8yo is fairly small and having a rifle as you seem to need I think would be too much for her. (what has she shot thus far?)

As for said neighbor being an "@$$ hole". Is it simply becasue he won't allow folks on his property? Having been there, done that,I can certainly understand his side quite well. Allow one and more and more abuse the privledges. Not long before a few ruin ot and there's such fencelines disallowing access.

Ihave a remington 700 BDL .270 which is way to much gun for my daughter, I hunt all the time but I am trying not to push her and I know if she shoots my gun and it hurts her she will be done, that is the main reason I'm looking for a lighter gun but I have a few other reason as well.

she has not shot anything bigger than a 22 and i want to ease her into it and teach her how to shoot but I also know if she gets hurt by the gun she will be done trying. So i'm trying to be careful.

If you already have a 270 a different/bigger gun really won't help you drop a deer any quicker. What you really need to do is work on shot placement and accurize your rifle to take the longer shots. If your rifle shoots 1 inch at 100 yards it will be 3 1/2 at 350 so make sure you have tight groups them practice at 350 and you will dropem' on the spot.
