Thinking of buying a Rem 700 BDL 270(for the 22" barrel), and putting on a scope. Which would give better bullet grouping, removethe factory barrel sights or leave them on? Anyonetesting ever been done onthis?

I have removed several iron sights off guns over the years and never noticed any accuracy changes.A matter of preference. If you do remove the sight go to your local gunsmith or store to get filler screws toplace in the sight taps. Take the rifle with you.

I have removed the sights from many 700's. I doubt that they will interfere with accuracy, but I just do not like their looks. Also, the rear sight often interferes with scope mounting. There are 2 screws holding each of the sights. The front sight has one screw under the sight blade, which must be removed to see it. Use a properly fitting screwdriver, as the screwsare usually in very tight. The plug screws from the scope mount taps will fit thetaps from the sights.
