i looked at one at the local walmart 189 used with a cheap scope. i went to walmart they had one for 125 not sure the brand. they had a real nice 10/22 with a stainless looking barrel though i do not think it was true stainless for 225 new

Mossberg makes the Plinkster in several versions and last time I saw one (a couple of weeks ago), a bolt action it was about $100 new.

I just picked up a Marlin 925R from Ace Hardware for under $150.00. I put a 4X32 Bushnell scope on it ($35.00). It can consistently put 56 rds.(7rd.clip) of Remington Gold Bullets hollowpoints in a quarter sized target at 50 yds. Lots of key hole shots also. Just don't clean it too much. Has great accuracy out to 100 yds. Haven't shot it any further.

I'm a big CZ fan (got a 453), but with the $200 limit I'd go for either a Marlin or the 10/22 "IF" I was looking to upgrade the rifle later on.

i had a marlin model 60 and a plastic part inside failed and it jambbed so i got rid of it. the 10/22 is great and a classic but the bolt doesnt hold open on the last shot if that matters to you. had a henry lever and it bent up rounds and didnt load smoothly. i dont think they have made the perfect 22 yet although i love my old stevens crackshot.
