Ruger SP-101 Owners
I have a Ruger SP-101 revolver (.357Mag) that I have had for about 15 years. I bought the gun new and since the first day I bought it, after shooting between 50-100 rounds (depending on the powder) the cylinder starts to bind on the axle. I have had it get so bad that you literally can't pull the trigger and cycle the gun in double action mode. It appears that the gap between the forcing cone and the cylinder is allowing the powder gas to be directed down on the axle, and ultimately finding it's way between the cylinder and the bearing surface.
The gun normally plays a personal protection role so a 50 round limitation is not a real issue, however I am interested in gettting the gun fixed at this point.
Do any of you other SP-101 owners have or have you had similar problems?
I am planning on sending this gun back to Ruger to be looked at but I want to see if this is a one off issue or a systemic problem with the SP-101.

RE: Ruger SP-101 Owners
I'm wondering if the cylinder axle is perhaps a bit out of true and with excessive build up becomeing an issue. Haven't been Hollywooding the cylinder closed have you? (open cylinder and then flicking it closed like on TV)
