RE: Which Gun
Remington 1100 in 12 guage with a rifled cantalever barrel and scope, plus a 26" barrel with interchangable chokes. There isn't anything in the continental U.S. that you couldn't hunt with that combination, assuming you could get close enough.

If I had to give away all my rifles but one, I would keep my Sako L691 in 300 Wby Magnum. I can shoot 3 round groups .25 center to center and it can do a job on anything in the lower 48.

RE: Which Gun
Your list isn't complete without Tikka on it!
Tikka T3 - The guy I've dealt with at a gun store I was at last Sat. said they've sold more Tikka T3s in the last 2 years than ANY other firearm, rifle, shotgun, pistol, period. And this place sells a lot of guns.
I've shot one many times. When mounted with quality optics and using premium ammo, in the hands of a skilled marksman they are awesome rifles. For the $ you can't beat them.

Does TC Encore count - same gun diff barrels - just about any caliber your could ask for - shotgun - centerfire - and ML all in one.
For the hunting I do in WNY - I would have to stick with my .243 Win Mag - Savage Model 11 - Fluted Barrel - Busnell 6 x 18 power scope and Harris Bipod. It's good enough for Whitetail down to Chucks -
First they need to leagalize rifles for deer hunting in WNY though now it is Shotgun only - Unless you are in the eastern part of the state - Adirondaks area and such.
I would like to do some western hunting for elk though and I would have to step up a bit in caliber. I have always been fond of .300 Win Mag.
