I need to admit, I am old fashioned. I still prefer the look and feel of the walnut stock of the BDL. I realize weight is one issue, but other than that what are pros cons v. synthetic stocks. (I am considering a 300 win mag)

The biggest advantage of synthetic stocks over wood,is that are much more stable than wood when the humidity changes.Unlike wood,a good synthetic stock will not swell or warp in wet conditions resulting in a change in the point of impact.

Personaly I would choose the wood stock for the weight, sucks up the felt recoil better than the synthetic stock. also looks better to me, as far as heat from firing andthe weather having effects on the point of impact due to warpage, have it floated and bed the action, problem solved.
