Bipod length?
#1
I'm going to go pick up a new Harris bipod this afternoon, but I can't decide which model I should purchase- the 9-13" or the 11-25". It's going on my new varmint rig and will be used to shoot p-dogs, coyotes, and the occasional doe. I'm leaning toward the 11-25" model since it can be used sitting, but I'm not sure how good it would be for shooting prone, which I usually do when hunting prairie dogs. I only weight 160, so my gut doesn't push me off the ground very far. Any thoughts?

i actually shoot prone on my 13-23" model. the target has to be slightly higher than me to do so comfortably though...
i do most my shooting sitting up so i dont care..i bought it to shoot sitting up and it works for me. i gotta get above the weeds and such most of the time...and its just more comfortable to sit up rather than lay down in a field all evening...if i did lots of prone shooting id definintly go smaller...
your decision on your shooting style...if you do alot of prone shooting id go with a smaller model...

Most of them you can clamp it, so it doesn't have to be 23" high, adjust it to fit. I bought a shooters ridge bipod, it's something like 13-29 1/2", and I like it. If you are going to be shooting all of your shots laying down, it is too high at the lowest setting, but it works.
