Default Scope for carbine

What scope would you recommend for a Ruger M44 Carbine? I have looked at the Leupold (1-4x), the Pentax SG (0-4x) and comparable Burris scope. This will be a brush gun and I want to most light gathering capability and the ability to throw the gun up and shoot at a running taget with both eyes open. What are your thoughts? I do not have an unlimited budget for a scope.

Thank you

All my scopes are Pentax except one; I would go with Pentax. Good luck.
