with a WW2 30 cal carbine...where should i aim to bring down the deer? the heart or just blast away at it? last time i was useing this crappy chinies WW2 gun and got the deer in the head and it fell down the second the bullet hit him

Fisrt of all, you never "just blast away" at any game animal! That's just plain irresponsible in my opinion. Second of all, always aim for heart/lung area. I myself have only used a headshot once on a deer, and that was from about 5 yards to finish him off. You'll never hear (or see) me recommend a head shot, even to expert shots.

I third the above. I'll be honest, If I was your hunting partner and saw you "blasting-away" I'd likely arrange a corporal meeting between you and my gunstock[:@] Whether you knew better or not. There's no harm in asking though. Look up deer anatomy on the internet and learn exactly where lungs/hearts/liver is and think about how you'd aim from all angles. Good luck.

If you're talking about the M-1 Carbine, those guns were notoriously weak in WW2.
I've always heard, "the carbine is what you want when you're marching, and and M-1 when you're fighting."
