it has been around for decades, and nobody has seen fit to copy it
Just becasue a feature or design isn't copied doesn't make it a bad design. There's other designs that are on highly regarded firearms that aren't copied by other manufacturers. For example, you see any others copying the HK P7 design? How bout the P210? Argueing over this trivial nonsence is futile. Each will have thier own unwavering opinions. Fine let those be at that. Being stubborn and putting in the sarcasism just make ones look foolish while buffering thier own testoserone.

Done here...

If you are happy with your Ruger, that is all that matters. I have 3 that shoot very well. I think your gunsmith may be full of "poo poo".
Some of the most accurate barrels in the world are made by hammer forging. I have eight Ruger rifles, six No. 1's, a No.3, and an M77. Every one of these rifles has been capable of 1" or smaller (one shot 1/2") groups at 100 yards when purchased with nothing done but the addition of a telescopic sight.

There probably are some Ruger rifles that don't shoot as well, but I tend to believe a lot of the reports of inaccurate Ruger rifles are more due to poor shooters than poor rifles!

Typical 3-shot, 200 yard group, from my Ruger No. 1B 7mm Rem Mag., 175-grain Rem. PSPCL, 66 grains N205, MV 3070 FPS..... These early No. 1's had Douglas Premium Grade barrels.....

The Ruger Angled screw has been around for decades, who's copied it? How many target rifles are built on them compared to Remingtons, Savages, and customs? How many full on custom DGR's are built on them compared to other actions like the Model 70, CZ 550,Milsurp-Mausers, and the 1917?

Yes, the Ruger action design has been "around for decades" However, it is newer than the designs used by the rest of those you list. Since tooling up to produce a rifle action is pretty costly, it would make no sense for those other makers to change their proven designs to the Ruger configuration - it's not as if they started up AFTER Ruger, and could easily implement any configuration they chose. In additon, there aren't a lot of used M77 actions lying around for anyone to use to build custom rifles. When it comes to DGR's, the one Ruger currently makes is as good as a lot of custom stuff, and costs less than a custom rifle.

Why should we care weather or not it is a copied part? I like my Ruger M77 MK II very much, and could care less what anyone thinks about it. If someone copies it or not dont matter to me, mine flat out shoots, even with its paddle stock, and argueing about wether or not it is a good design based on wther or not it is copied seems to me to be a big old waste of time...

If copying other manufactures rifle features makes a gun better than the Marlin MR 7 should buy your analogy be the best rifle ever made. It copies the Winchester 70action design, it copies the Remington 700bolt face and three rings of steel design, it copies the Browning A bolt magazine design, it copies the Winchester 70 three position safety and it copies the Ruger 77 bolt handle. It is a great rifle honestly, but because Marlin is known as a lever gun and inexpensive gun maker they didn't catch on.

I own a Ruger M77 Mark II in .338 Win Mag. One of the better rifles I own. Accurracy, well, let's just say I can put 5 rounds inside a silver dollar at 100 yards. Accurate enough for me. See the picture with the moose. That's my Ruger across his rack. Nuff said!!!
