If copying other manufactures rifle features makes a gun better than the Marlin MR 7 should buy your analogy be the best rifle ever made. It copies the Winchester 70action design, it copies the Remington 700bolt face and three rings of steel design, it copies the Browning A bolt magazine design, it copies the Winchester 70 three position safety and it copies the Ruger 77 bolt handle. It is a great rifle honestly, but because Marlin is known as a lever gun and inexpensive gun maker they didn't catch on.
