Default shotgun barrels

I am new to shotgun shooting, could someone please explain the differences in barrels for me? If I am looking for a 12 ga. shotgun to hunt deer, turkey & also shoot sporting clays, how many different barrels will I need? Will I need a rifled and a smooth barrel?

Default RE: shotgun barrels

you can get away with one...but just barely getting away. I would get a 26" vent rib w/ chokes..that will take care of any type of small game. Then get another rifled barrel for deer.
