i have a browning medallion ( if nobody knew already ). now this year i used it every day so far. i used it in the rain/snow the first week of november in maine.
now if i take the stock off the gun to clean the underneath would that ruin the glass bedding of that gun? also would i have to sight in my rifle again since it has a scope on it?
If not...what do you all do to clean the debri.( pine neddles ) etc: from maybe getting inside down there?

I wouldn't take anything apart until after the season. Taking the stock off and putting it back on could effect the zero. It could depend on how tight the screws are and stuff like that. Maybe the barrel would sit in the stock slightly different. Clean it in one piece until the season's over. Then give it an overhaul. I guess you could always re-zero on Sundays.

If the Medallion is bedded at the front recoil pad which I am not sure of with the gun sitting in a bench of some sort carefully pry the reciever out evenly and not at an angle. Better bet is to call Browning on their 800 number and ask for advice on this matter. I don't have a problem taking apart by Abolt with the exception they put in powdered graphite all over the action for weather protection. Clean the channel with a slightly damp cloth followed by a dry cloth. Let the stock and reciever sit apart for a couple of hours and then put it back together. During the wait I like to put Tetra gun on the barrelled action and rub it in and let it sit.

after shooting my smith '06 with a scope i take it off the stock and clean and oil everything. taking the stock off has never messed up the way it shoots, i can take it off right now, clean it up, and put it back together and it will still shoot where i aim. just make sure everybolt and screw is tight.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
