I have a pair of Insta-Molds. They are comfortable, but the foam plugs do a better job of knocking down the sound. I wear my Pro-Ears over my Insta-Molds and turn the volume up. I can hear normal conversation fairly well, and I get really good sound protection. The muffs also keep my ears warm in the winter!

I think they are worth it, at least for my ears. I had a pair made several years ago. I wear them when I fly and wear them and a set of muffs when I shoot. Can't beat good hearing.

I had a set made a couple of years ago for my high power matches. My ear muffs got in the way during the prone position. When I first wore the custom plugs, they seemed OK but when I went prone, I guess the shape of my right ear changed and they didn't work at all. That was a loud 10 shots. The guy said they had a lifetime garauntee but I haven't seen him at the gun shows lately.
