Default Need advice on this set up!

I'm buying my first rifle very shortly. It's a Tikka T3 stainless\syntheticchambered in 270wsm. Along with a Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10 X 44mm. I have a few questions.

1) If any of you own a 270wsm Tikka how does it shoot?

2)Are the Tikka Optilock rings and bases the best for this gun\scope combination.

3) What does Tikka recomend for there barrel break in procedure?

4) I'll be shooting 150gr XP3 bullets do any of you have any experience with this load\gun? What bullet would you suggest besides the XP3?

Default RE: Need advice on this set up!

I have a Sako 270 WSM and have no regrets with this cartridge. This rifle has a set of Optilock ring and I find they are ok but mount the scope a little high. The lowest set of Optilock rings will accommodate a 50 mm scope and a little larger objective lens. I have a set of Conetrol rings on my second Sako rifle with a 42 mm scope and find it nest allot closer to the rifle. The rings also look alot better. When shooting your rifle at the range make sure to let the barrel cool between shots. The rifle will tell you what it likes as for bullets for accuracy so I would suggest to try different brands to find out. Good luck with your rifle and as far as for the scope, sound like you made a good choice...
