Hello Everyone!
I just purchased a new Benelli Nova shotgun. When I load it, the carrier stays pushed in...it will not come back down unless I manually pull it down. A friend says he believes all new Benellis do this, and that over time it will losen up and begin to pop back down.
Is he correct, or do I have something wrong with my gun?
Thanks, ths78

What part specifically is "sticking"? Is it the trap door that you push up when you load shells into the magazine? If so, the first round you chamber from the mag when cause it to drop back down. It's not a problem, if that's what your worrying about.
I have Benelli autoloaders. That plate will drop back down on autoloaders with the chambering of the round either manually when you load it or if you put another shell in the mag after a shot it'll drop down with the next shot. Unless it's some other symptom I'm not understanding and causes the shotgun not to feed in new rounds to the chamber and eject spent ones, I wouldn't worry.

I have had my Nova for about about two and a half years, i know exactly what your talking about, mine still does it also, it really is not a problem unless it just irritates you, but if you want a quick fix i think you can disengage your pump just slightly as if you were going to eject a round, this will cause your "carrier" to go back into the down position, you can then slide your pump forward and problem solved. But it will not have any effect on the way that your gun performs.
I think you should like your Nova, I personally like the feeli of an 870 a little better, but none the less I have a Nova, I love mine and theres not a whole lot that gets by me when it goes off, except for them darn dove, still cant have a perfect day when hunting them, good luck with your new purchase,
