I'm considering buying a Colt pistolin .38 Super because I've heard it's a very accurate cartridge with lower recoil than a .45. I have a Springfield in .45 that's pretty accurate, butthe idea of lower recoil sounds good.
Anyone out there ever had a chance to shoot a Colt or Springfield in .38 Super and a .45 side by side? If so, how did they compare for accuracy and recoil? Thanks.

You are looking at a lighter bullet and yes there would be less recoil. I had a Colt 38 Super for several years. I used it for competition shooting. For defense it would compare to a hot loaded 9MM with the same weight bullets. I wouldn't want one if it were to replace the 45 for defense but they are a fun addition to ones arsenal.
