James when loaded to potential how close are the 260 and the 6.5x55? I know the swede will win on case capacity but I figure the 260 efficiency should close the gap a little. Any thoughts?

Hi All, Thanks for the great replies. I did some reloading for my CZ and because it is a modern rifle I figured I would push the book a little. At 47 grains of 4831 (1 grain over max). It shot three shots into the same hole!!!! I figure this isin the 2800 FPS range. By the way they were 140 SST bullets. What an amazing little rifle!!! CZ and 6.5x55 what a great combination.

DD. In commercial rifles its about a dead heat. My Speer manual gives the 260 an edge of about 70 fps. However in their test rifles they used a Swede in the Ruger with a 22 inch barrel and the 260 was the Remington with a 26 inch barrel. Therefore Its to close to call. Both of these calibers deserve to be ten times as popular as they are. Its an injustice to the American shooters that more companies don't offer more options on these two calibers. OF COURSE, if they did then I would be forced to buy them.
