I started a thread on accurate reloading.com

so far there is 29 votes and not a single one is for Savage.....and only one for Sako/Weatherby

check this out if you wish

go to www.accuratereloading.com and go to forums african hunting and check the dangerous game poll I started.....

Does the word of 29 hunters mean anything???

Seriously....the score is 29 to 0.0
Dude..Savage doesn't even build a dangerous game weapon; of course it is going to be 0. You said that Savage has a long way to go to building a big game rifle. You admit that you know nothing about the new Savage accutrigger big bore rifles and now you are referring me to threads on dangerous game rifles. CZ dominates that for sure andwithoutme even going to the site. That is a give me. Guns and Ammo magsix months ago by Dick Metcalf states that the CZ Brunois used by more dangerous game and Africahunters and guides than any other firearm. Whenmy wife and I get to Africa in the hopefully near future we will be shooting our bows though.

When one builds a 375 H&H he's building a big gasme and dangerous game rifle.....the score currently BTW is 48-0.......

The rifle chambered in .375 H&H is totally capable of elephant, Rhino and cape buffalo..........

If the Savage was so good at least someone would use it for the intended task.....the gun is billed by Savage as a guide's gun....something to suit against the big bears which might be even more dangerous than anything in Africa.....

Anyway you look at it.....the score of folks that hunt Africa and dangerous game is 48-0 and that's not deniable.......there is in fact no difference between a big game rifle and a dangerous game rifle except caliber and energy.....the mere fact that it's chambered in .375 makes this a real test......and it has failed...again...48-0

Please note that my poll says that the gun is in the caliber that they want.....even 470 Nitro if they want.....and the score tells me all I need to know.....it's not even close.

The .375 Savage isn't even available yet or on Savages website. How can anybody know anything about the gun? You still haven't answered the question as to how you know that a Savage accutrigger rifle has a long way to go to be a big game rifle when you have never owned or shot one.

Yeah thats really proving something from 48 people who HAVE NEVER HANDLED THE GUN. Not to mention thatyou Vapodog HAVE NEVER HANDLED THE GUN. I guess we should consider you an expert on all things cause you seem to know it all.

Savage's 375 is NEW. Its not even on the web site yet. Biggest caliber I found was the 338. Until its actually been shot and tested by folks. I sure as hell don't think you or any one else can say if its a royal piece of junk or the best thing since sliced bread! Bottom line you and 48 other people don't know jack #$% about the gun!!!

sorry to ruffle your feathers guys.....the score is now 54-0

You can't blame me when 54 folks had the chance to pick between a winchester, Ruger, Remington, Sako, Weatherby, Double rifle or a Savage and absolutely none of them picked the Savage.....

I assure you.....there's a reason for it.

I will sure as hell give them a chance. Many of the other companies have had ups and downs as well. Many common folks even in Africa use some pretty common rifles. All in all I have never had a problem with a Savage until this one bad extractor. No problems to feed, certainly no safty problems and never a function problem with the bolt or anything

My complaints with Savage go back a long ways.....and their quality certainly was among the worst in the industry.....as late as the 1990s I personally witnessed Savage's amazing accuracy and extremely poor triggers and feeding troubles.

As I said....the accutrigger seems to be a major improvement.....good for them.....but am I to buy one every year just to see if they have improved? There comes a time when we cut and run.....

Same goes for Weatherby.....none of them here either!!!!! My bout with Charles Daly has been aired here as well.....none of them here either....

I've never had an issue with Marlin, Smith & Wesson, Howa, Taurus, Winchester, Remington, or Browning.......at least that was not remedied.

BTW....the score of folks that had a choice is now 74-0....so far not a single person picked the Savage to go hunting.....quite a statement I'd say!!!!!

I post my experiences....nothing more and nothing less

Vapodog, I could care less what you take to africa on adangerous gamehunt. You could take your little red ryder for all I care. The fact remains that not one of you can actually say anything about savages 375 because none of you has seen it or shot it because its not available yet. Now either put up or shut up. List the reasons why the 375 itself is not a dangerous game rifle. What is wrong with that paticular rifle.

The only thing thats been said is, we don't know if the gun is up to it or not because we haven't had any experience with it. And you can't let it go at that. So put up or shut up. You pick. I'm not interested in hereing your stories about 20 years ago. I want to know exactly whats wrong with that 375.

Also, to my knowledge this is savage's first dangerous game weapon. Like its been said, its not avaiblable yet. Hell no people are not going to say they would use it when there's been no experience with it at all. They are going to go with a gun that they know is up to the task. Now give people time to test the gun and see how it works and they might try it. If you can't understand that then you have no business posting on here.

My-O My.....seems we have touched a sensitive nerve.....

Just posted my experience with Savage........and the fact that (now) 75 other folks have voted for anything but a Savage for a hunting rifle.
