Winchester Silvertips???
hello guys i would like to try winchester silver tips but there is a problem to many people say they blow deer up. i would have to shoot 180 grain and it says used for delayed expansion for medium to large game. i would like to know if anyone shoots this out of there .308?????(thats what i have)

If your are talking about silver tips you better make sure that you hit him in the ribs. I have shot them out of my .308 and i hit one in the back bone. what a mess. But you dont have to worry about your deer going far, thats for sure.

They will tear things up a bit more then regular power points. The way i look at it is if you hit them in the shoulder with a .308 it isnt going to matter what kind of bullet you are using, they are going down.
my dad used to use fmj in his 7.65x53 argentine mauser and a well placed shot always brought them down.
