I have gone against the trend of fast slugs and gone with a slower slug. I use the 2 3/4 Remington Copper Solid Sabots. They do not have the recoil of the 1900 fps slugs, but are extremely accurate. I have a fully rifled cantilever barrel with a 2-7 scope on it. At 100 yds, it will shoot a 3 shot group under 1 inch and I am not usually a good shot. Last year, I took an 8 pointer at 150 yds with it aiming at the top of its back.

IMO, the Win. Partition Gold, or an equivalent made by Remington or Federal would be the best. The worst are the Foster-type slugs, but you have to use these or the Brenneke design in smooth-bore barrels.

Go with the Brenneke slugs. Simply awesome performance from either the "Foster" types or the rifled slugs from the boxes marked "FOR RIFLED BARRELS ONLY". Best buy for the $$$ I believe. Unsurpassed energy delivery!!!
