I'm shopping for a heavy barreled 22-250 varmint blaster. The gunstore has these three:
Model 70 Stealth (blued) for $660
Ruger stainless laminated stock for $660
Howa (blued) for $420
Any comments? I'm pretty familiar with sporter weight rifles, but need advice from more experienced guys re. varmint guns.

BTM,
The Savage or Remington are both good. With the Savage you will have to rework the trigger, and bed or replace the tupperware stock. The Rem. VS should work out of the box. The Ruger M77V/T usually shoot good out of the box. The price on the one you mentioned seemed a little high.
If interested I have a used one I would sell.

Howa's are darn good rifles. The ones that I've seen have sharp crisp triggers and shoot well out of the box.
Riflenut's right, take that 240 extra and sink it into a quality scope.
