My girlfriend just purchased an A-bolt Medallion. I helped her set it up, and the only thing I wasn't real pleased with was the adjustable trigger. The manual said it could adjust from 3-6 pounds. After adjusting it to the extreme both ways, it didn't seem to adjust hardly at all. The difference in the extremes was small. It still was apound or 2heavier than my Rem 700 that I adjusted to a3 lb pull.
What do you recommend doing to lower the trigger down to around 3 lbs? I've seen a few aftermarket replacement springs, but don't have any experience in trigger work with Brownings. I saw a replacement spring from Timney ( http://timneytriggers.com/bin/store.cgi?cmd=showframes&sessionID=1123510697T T681) Does anyone have any experience or recommendations? Thanks for the help!

About the only thing you can do to a Browning trigger is replace the spring. They just aren't made to be workable.
It is a simple process or removing the pin that holds in the finger lever and replace the spring.

You can either replace the spring with one that you mentioned(I've heard they're a great investment, but have not personal experience) or you can modify the existing spring. It takes all of 2 minutes to remove the spring from an A-bolt trigger and it's pretty self explanatory. Once you have it removed you can hold it in a pair of pliers(don't crush it!) and grind one end down with a Dremel or similar. I took about .100" off of both my A-bolts and at the lowest spring rate setting they are both about 1.5 pounds. You can always take more off, but you can't put it back, so yo might want to go just a little at a time and reassemble, check it out and then procede as necessary.

Its a shame that with the money browning asks for the firearms, one would think that there triggers would be better.your not the first one i,ve heard about with this problem. But they really don,t want people to get to much of a light trigger due to lawyers and law suits,so thats why they do it. we can thank the lawyers for a lot of stuff in the gun industry.liability is the big word. vangunsmith
