I don't know exactly but they last a long time. My 77/22 has has probably 4000-5000 rounds through it and it is still a tack driver. I couldn't tell you how many shots my dads 77/22 has had but I know it is more than mine, his still shoots awesome too.

Have a gunsmith drill a hole in the back of the receiver and you can clean it from the rear instead of from the muzzle. Don't worry, it won't make the receiver weak or anything like that and you won't be able to see it while it is in the stock.
A 22lr will last virtually forever if you take care of it. You won't be able to wear out the barrel.

OTIS... is the way to go.....Irecomend the tactical kit, but they have a kit specifically for small calibers as well....

As always from the breech to muzzle......
When you fire your gun, the powder residue and dirt are in the barrel. The chamber and receiver are clean. If you run a brush or patch from the muzzle end you will push this dirt, residue, and moisture into the chamber and receiver. This is a major cause of stuck cases or problems with lever actions and auto-loading rifles and shotguns. If you push or pull a brush back toward the chamber, you will notice the brush will throw the debris from the bore back into the chamber and locking lugs.

the bore snakes work great on any gun. before anyone ever thought of a bore snake we used to tie a small weight on a string and pull the brush and a rag threw. this also cleans the chamber real well. we were doing this back in the 60's. the army has used them for even longer than that. back to your ? yes use the bore snake on your auto loader.
