never said i was above the law but if I have a pond that I payed hard earn money to stock it and tuttles were eating the eggs law or not they would be tuttle soup. here where i live you have more rights to your land and you can run the law of your land if they dont have the right paper work if they dont and you tell them to get off you land the law sayes they have 1 min. to leave or they can go to jail cops in jail now that great!!!!

HUH???? I think you need to rewrite that in the morning. It doesn't make much sense.

So for all of you that were down on him for killing turtles and birds how many of you have ever killed the same? Be honest cause I bet every single person here has. And it don't matter if you have killed one or a thousand, its the same thing.

Who has killed a rattle snake? In many states they protected or are considered game animals and have seasons just like deer. Or how about crows eating crops? Or how about a squirrel eating the pecans or figs from your trees during the late spring? Or how about an oppossum digging in your trash?

Has everyone followed the law concerning game animals to a "T"??????????????????

Good shooting BTW!

actually i have followed those laws.. only because you cant shoot where i live, and i just got my first rifle before xmas, but even so, i would feel bad if i killed something that i wasnt going to eat. (or use in some way) id find other ways to get rid of them first.

we've all done it (broken the law) in one form or another. It doesn't make it right. The law is there for a reason. The idea is to learn from our mistakes. You thought that what you were doing was ok, the property owner had asked, it seemed logical, etc. Learn from it and move on.

The first animal I ever killed was a bird using a bb gun. It was a cardinal. yep a protected bird. I learned from that and many other mistakes. Last season, I had the opertunity to take the largest mule deer I've ever laid eyes on. No kidding. The catch was it was 50 yrds across the fence on property that I didn't have premission to hunt. You bet that all of the excuses ran through my head. Different ways that I could add that muley to my wall and freezer.

Maybe it will be there next fall.

i thought it was legal to do what you want on your property. If said animal is damaging property. correct?
If animals or birdsare damaging your property, you must contact the State
Conservation Agenency. They will tell you what you can or can't do.
In FL. if you get caught traspassing with a loaded firearm, the fine will be
$10,000 or 5yrs in prison or both. You can't even shoot Deer off season
if they are eating your watermelon's. You have to call the SCA.
Same fine for carrying a loaded Shotgun in an Orange Grove.
There are many animals and birds that are protected here.
Gopher turtles dig tunnels and cows step in them and brake thierlegs,
but we can't bother them, we have to call the SCA for thier removal.
You just can't do what you want because the property is in your name.
I havehad 40 acres for 38yrs and pay $400 a month rent (taxes) on what
I call my property, is it mine?

Dad Gone people, you all have to be kidding me. Can you say self righteous.

I have a sneaking suspision the people on here belittling this guys Sho, are the biggest outlaws in the woods. Thats the way I see things like this work out. My theory is they are mad at themselves for no self control, so beating on people makes them feel better.

Shoot, unless its coal black, or has a big stripe on it, I kill every snake I can. And so does most americans. And on occasion, I run a red light. Sometimes when really frisky, I might be closer than 1 car length away from the car in front of me. And once or twice, I have exceeded the posted speed limit. All which are more dangerous than this guy knocking over some turtles.

Not knocking those who choose to break the law or act in an unethical manner. However when you grow up I think you will see where some of us don't like to see that kind of firearms behavior. Its easy to compare everything to things that don't have anything to do with the original point but its a bit of a stretch sometimes. I also kill snakes if its legal to do so however. Most of them are good food. Really true for rattlesnake. I might well pop a turtle for food as well but not if it means shooting against the surface of the water. Bad Move.

Whats funny as hell is anybody that pulls off a stupid stunt like you did would even let others know about it. I had a girlfriend who was shot unintentionallyin the leg by a yahoo across the lake shooting at FROGS with his 22 rifle. Bullet bounced across the water and hit her in the lower leg burying itself in her shin. After a 30+ mile ride in an ambulance she was lucky enough to be treated by a Doctor who had recently returned from Vietnam and familiar with that kind of wound especially since the hospital was in the middle of nowhere. Half of the bullet will be in her leg for the rest of her years and she spent 2 weeks in the hospital because of it. Now that is funny as hell isn't it?
