RE: i put my 22mag to the test

Oh come on OEH. I can pick out littlerly hundreds of isolated incidents where a freaky things happened. Its a shame what happened to your lady friend. And I am glad she is ok. Are you trying to tell me you never, ever once bent the law hunting? Ever shot at a deer, elk or whatever thru brush? Ever on flat land and took a shot at a deer in a field. There's a bunch of stories out there of these isolated incidents wounding people. I am big turkey hunter, and if you ask my old inlaws, they will tell you its stupid to take a shot at a turkey unless you are on a elevated position over the turkey cause some incident happened to an uncle where he got hit in the eye by one shot 100's of yards away.

When you get 280 million people in a country, there are bound to be some isolated crazy stories that only happen once in a million chances.

I guess it reminds me of people who come up to me and tell me about a bad motorcycle incident that happened to someone in thier family when they see me roll up on mine. I tell them I refuse to live my life in fear. All this is due respect. But totolly think you guys are being way too self righteous.

Isolated stories is what I argue with coworkers that want all guns banned.

BC the man is a reckless Jackass. And yes I did bend the law once while hunting. The wriststrap on my watch broke on opening day of deer season and I put it in my pocket. In NJ at the time the legal shooting hour was 7am... I had heard shots for more then 1/2 an hour or so but they were on private land.. When the buck showed up and it was very good daylight at the timeI killed him. Game warden walked up behind me(public land)and wrote out a 135 dollar freaking ticket . I think I was either 5 or10 minutes early .Thats it buddy in a nutshell. First and last ticket nothing in this world worth a human life or a GD ticket. The lake this girl was shot at was pretty secluded in the Catskills, she had no idea there was anyone around. Freaky it was another 2 feet the other way and she was shot in the head.

BC, I don't know why you classify the things he was doing freaky?
1.Shooting in the lake> intentional.
2.Killing turtles for the hell of it> intentional.
3.Killing birds for the hell of it> intentional.
4.He thought if the property is his he can do anthing he wants
on it.>Wrong
This guy is either too young or could careless about anybody else.

Wasn't classifiying what he did was freaky but the example as being a possible freak incicdent. I have talked to OEH on many occasion and would stake anything that he is a man of his word, but I think you guys coming down on this guy is taking things a little too far. I mean its the internet.

Maybe I am jaded by seeing all the craziness I see on a day to day bases. I just see 100 incidents a day that are more dangerous.

I think it would be more appropiate to just PM the guy and tell him nicely that what he is doing could cause injury.

You want to help somebody, pull a butt head off the road you see going 80 in his mercedes weaving in and out of traffic talking on his cell phone. That would be more righteous and fair than some guy shooting turtles.

Sure I learned my lesson shooting a bb gun in a puddle and went back and hit my mom's window. But that was when I was 6.

Anyway, everybodies got thier opinions. And I respect everyones opinion.

.....on occasion, I run a red light. Sometimes when really frisky, I might be closer than 1 car length away from the car in front of me. And once or twice, I have exceeded the posted speed limit. All which are more dangerous than this guy knocking over some turtles.

Guys like you that figure it's okay to bend or break the law - if it's just now and then, or okay if there's no serious consequences, etc. You make me want to give it all up and join the anti-hunting & anti-gun folk [:'(] [:@]

Boy it sure is nice to know that nearly everyone here is perfect.

No one here has ever killed a snake? Yeah Right. Everytime some one posts a topic about a snake 90% of the posts say something to the effect that "the only good snake is a dead snake".

Anyone ever shoot a dog that was on your property? I know for a fact that many here have done just that. Was it the dogs fault that it was let loose to run around? No but some of you would shoot it any way.

Anyone here ever shoot tweetie birds, mocking birds, thrushers, robins, wood peckers and any number of other birds when they were growing up. If you say no I would bet dollars to donuts you were lying. I'd go so far as to bet that about 95% of you have done just this.

I feel so privilaged to know all of you perfect beings.

I am reminded of the recent story about PETA killing some 85% of their "rescues" when reading every ones posts here. Just about as hypecritical just not on such a large scale.

No, I ain't perfect - Lord knows that. But, I haven't gone out and
shot snakes for the heck of it, nor birds, nor anyone's dog that was running loose, etc. That's all a bunch of crap that immature
kids might do, or criminals.
BTW, please come to Virginia and call me a liar to my face [:@]

So you have never ever ever killed a snake, bird, opossum, skunk, raccoon, squirrel, or any other animal either out of season, with out a license, for target practice, or what ever reason other that protection or food?

Not once ever?

I have a real hard time believing that while you were growing in your teens as a teen that hunted you never once shot a bird.
