RE: i put my 22mag to the test

wait a minute peepz. I was blastin unwelcome varmits at the request of the property owner there were no houses or boats or buildings for over 2 miles from our location. We were on an elevated shooting possition about 20-25 feet above the water so no ricochets. I know the ability of my guns, know my targets, and know whats beyond them. I looked at the local maps and the fly by maps to be sure LONG before I took my first shot. The land owner didnt want them there, so we removed them. He said they ate his fish eggs. As for the bird, like I said im not sure the breed; but it was a lucky ass shot and still nothing beyond it but trees trees and more trees then more trees. Sorry you fellas fill the way you do but it was done and in my mind and the minds of the guys there it was done safely. And on top of the varmit thing, ground hogs are doing nothing but sittin there minding there on buisness when they get blasted, but thats diff. -SHo

Yes it is different. It is legal to shoot groundhogs.

i thought it was legal to do what you want on your property. If said animal is damaging property. correct?

Not here. Most turtles are protected. You can trap them but there are specific limits and such. Shooting them is a great way to get your ass in a sling.

Not to mention the fact you have to have a basic fishing license to take turtles by legal methods. The state of Louisiana insists on being paid for everything.

How were the turtles doing damage to the property? In most cases all birds are protected. I don't know about ground hogs but prairie dogs totally destroy thiusands of acres of land every year in the Dakotas anyway.

You still broke the law. Regardless if the land owner wanted you to or not. I have respect for no one that breaks conservation laws. Which you clearly did. And I hope you get caught some day. Hunters have a bad enough rap without people like you. That was nothing more than wanton waste and destruction. Good job![:-][:'(]

wow, i was told by the landowner to take them, they were killing his fish (eggs) and i along with others did. I thought was under same basis as the ground hog/ deer killin your crops, thing. I dont illegal hunt or poach anything. If thats what you think i am/do you are mistaken. I hunt legal game during legal seasons. Nothing more, and like i said i saw them as destorying his "fishery" as it were. NEwho nuff said on the topic. I think i will get me a marlin like pictured above with the leupold 6x36 scope.
