Default 700 ADL or mossberg SSi ONE expectations

I am looking to sell my current rifle, and buy a "real" deer rifle for next season. I am looking at the 700 ADL with a synthetic stock, and possibly a mossberg SSi ONE and would like to know oppinions on each. I would be hunting primarily white tail deer, and some mulies. So I am looking at either a .270, or a 30-06. My current rifle is a FN-49, obviously not a deer rifle, but capable of taking one down, provided you can hit it. I would hope for somthing substantialy better in accuracy, and believe either of these would provide it. The 700 is reasonably priced , at least in my oppinion, and the mossberg offers a cheaper avenue to different calibers as a bonus.
Thanks
Corey

Well I have the ADL 30-06 but mine has the walnut stock. Just got it in October and let me tell you it's a dream. My experiences with it have been thumbs up all the way. I use Core-Lokt 150 grains in it for whitetails. Get yourself a decent scope (on that YOU are comfortable with) and you'll be set. Good luck

I bought the Rem.700 Adl and I have no complaints .I looked at the wood stocks but went with the synthetic .We get a lot of moisture and I didn't want to have to worry about the stock .

speedbuggy16v welcome to the board.I have a Rem 700 ADL with the synthetic stock in .270. It has proved to be a reliable rifle.Don't know about the Mossberg. The Remington 700 has been around for a long time and been proven. Check out the Ruger 77's. Another quality made bolt action. You can get it with S/S bbl and synthetic stocks & a large selection of calibers..Ruger Redhawk

I own a 700 ADL. It is an older model and I've had absolutely no problems. Accuracy is 1" to 1.25" with factory ammo but I haven't experimented very much with it. Honestly, I don't take it out of the safe very much, as I tend to hunt with my Sako.

The only complaint I have is the felt recoil. My ADL is in 270 and it feels like it recoils more than any other 270 I've shot. Heck, it felt like it recoils more than the 300 Weatherby I used this past Fall.

As an aside, I've been making the rounds of local shops lately and the quality of the new 700s is pretty depressing.
