I used to be a hard core Shimano guy that was until Quantum brought out newer lines in the past few years...now my shimanos see action for ice fishing or spot duty. So sign me up for Quantum on spinning, Shimano still gets my vote for baitcasters though...yet to find a reel I like better than the Calcutta

I have all Shimanos except for the Mitchell 300 that I got around 1965 !!!

Since this post has been floating around for 3 months, I have been "converted" from Zebco to Shimano. I have a Shimano Sedona set up for catfish with 15 pound line.
