Biggest bass

Good question, but I'll have to get back to you on it. Our son had it mounted for him over in Mobile, but I want to say in the neighborhood of $225. They got the catch on video, too, and it ran on local TV on a friend's outdoor show. It's not a record fish, but it's up there.

The Florida state record was caught in a pond in Polk County 8 miles upi the road from me. It was 17.27 pounds. I have a couple of nice bass on video as well. Both were caught on a rubber worm. I wished you could download us a picture of this battle. I bet that was one heck of a fight.
I have a new cam corder with all the goodies but can't figure out how to post them on here. My old fishing pictures are on VCR videos. Congrats again for one great trophy. My last mount I paid 125.00 for a 7 pound fish.I thnk now they are around 350 here in central Florida..very steep in deed.

Well, I think I win.
My husband caught this 16 lb. large mouth from a private pond last summer. He's now a decoration on the wall in the pool room.

A private pond here in Calhoun County, Georgia. That's about 60 miles from the Alabama line, and about 75 or so from the Florida line in southwest Georgia. Oh, and about 65 miles from Lake Eufaula in Alabama also. My husband used to be a tournament fisherman for 20 years over in that area. That was Tom Mann's home if that rings a bell for you. \
Then we bought an offshore boat and both got our Captain's license, switched to saltwater, and chartered the boat for a few years. Now he bass fishes for fun in the local ponds around, and we catfish in our yard in our own pond. What a life, huh?
Oh, and we go to work everyday, too. [&o]

Tom Mann...
One of my favorites. The founder of 2 great lures
Mann's Jelly Worm and Little George..
For quite a while Mann's was the hottest worm around. I used many of his black and blue tail baits and grape. I also recall him as a spin fishing fishermen..I use mine alot as well.

Tom was a wonderful man, a good fishing buddy, and we were lucky to count him a friend. When he would go out with us on the big boat offshore he would take that spinning rod still! You can imagine the time he had with a grouper on that! *L*
Is Kennesaw north of us? I know I've heard of it, but can't place it?

I bet..LOL I've only seen 2 fishermen use them with a rubber worm..Tom Mann and Roland Martin..I like to use them because I think they have a better drag system.However..most of my bass rods are baitcasters.

My husband uses baitcasters as well. Me, I use whatever won't make a birds nest as fast. *L*
You know when Tom first started making his plastic worms I was in high school in Eufaula (I know, I'm aging myself), and all he had was a metal building that had 8 foot folding tables through out it, and women pouring the plastic into the molds on one side, and women pull them out for packaging on the other. Then he would put them in the trunk of his car and peddle them from bait store to bait store. And he never gave up until he became a legend.

WOW what an honor to have known him..Really neat. I watched a video of him once teaching the 'Pitching Method' With these new braid lines, one can use them spinning reels for worming easily. There is absolutely no memory in Power Pro..I can pin point my cast...and cast longer..I can quickly adjust my drag if I'm in trouble which to me is safer than pushing the button on a baitcaster. I love the GarciaC 104..high gear ratio...smooth reel and I feel very confident using it.
