Mr. Fish..

Too far to drive sir..I can see some of the best lakes from my drive way...
I honestly don't know how many lakes are in my county. I bought a 200.00 portable fish finder 2 years ago but it's getting flakey. i put new batteries in it..we will see. Ive been soending alot of money lately and I need to slow down. I may drive ot Missouri this year or to Alabama and visit MT..

I just spent 30.00 from Cabelas on lures

and 120.00 on ebay{Paid with a money order} for a bike rack to take my bike hunting with me this year. The gates are locked .You can only scout those WMA roads using a bicycle.

chuck, most major brands offer a "low end" finder that is tons better than the best units 10 years ago. The eagle fish mark 320 can be found for under $150 usually. Garmin has some great units out also, just avoid the 100, 120, 140 ones - they dont have enough pixels. I am particuarly fond of the 240's - they are a great unit, and you can track a grub down to about 40 feet - you can find them used for $50 - $125

i have caught quite a few bass like that using a drop shot. find a brush pile, lower it down, watch the arches move up to your bait, set hook, repeat

Josh,
1.Where did you learn to use the drop shot from ? Yesterday when you mentioned it was the first time I've ever heard of it.

2.Are those rubber minnows a certain brand?

3.Are you using a polamar knot to tie your hook on?

Thanks ,
C7
I will certainly try that.

Too far to drive sir..
I hear ya .(We dont drive to much(esp lately)whenwe are back home in Wy,( things are kinda far apart to)
I would have to anyways.I really injoyed the ocean the times i been there in the past)
As i mentioned previous we drive over a 1000+ miles a yr - thats only one way 1 leg of 1 trip - to travel south to fish/watch the birdiess etc - then onto Ky to see son& family) It will be a lot of miles by the time we get back home(Wy)

GAS was a little over a dollar when we considered all this about 3+ yrs ago[&o]Tryed to even included a margin of inflationfor more expensive gasEtc(1.50)- But didnt foresee 100+?% increase
